Standard Solo / Team
These are the normal games we play on a day-to-day basis.
Each player has unlimited lives/ammo, can fire 3 shots per second and rapid fire is enabled.
You also get 2 Photons and 2 Shields per game. To enable your Photons, tap the button on the front of the vest and you will get a short-range “shotgun” for a short period of time. This will enable you to tag multiple players at the same time. To enable your Shields, you press and hold the button for 3 seconds (or select it from the menu on the back of the phaser) then pull your trigger. The shield lasts for about 10 seconds and stops you from being tagged by other players, however you are still able to fire and tag them whilst protected. You cannot use your Shields and Photons at the same time.
You can tag other players in 5 zones, on the front of the vest (200 points), the back of the vest (100 points) either of the shoulders (50 points) or the phaser (50 points).
You do not lose any points when you get tagged by other players, however your pack will shut down for 8 seconds.
You can destroy all 3 bases once (Solo Game) or the opposing teams bases once (Team Game) by shooting the spinning light 4 times in a row without getting tagged by another player and you get 2000 points for each base you destroy.
The Megablasters are enabled and you can enable them twice in-game. To do this, you tag the rotating light and 7 seconds later, it will kill everyone it can see (and you get the points for the tags)
All 20 Microblasters are also enabled on a random pattern. If you see one lit, tag it for 25 extra points.
Anti-Stalker mode is enabled in this game. This means when your pack re-energises, you are invulnerable for a half-second, to retaliate against whoever shot you.
Basic Solo / Team
The object of this game is just to shoot the other players / teams.
The settings are the same as in our standard games, however the bases, megablaster and microblasters are not enabled and you do not start with any special abilities/weapons.
Points, shot-speed and downtime are exactly the same as normal.
Mayhem Solo / Team
As in the basic game, all the arena features and specials are disabled, however each player is armed with a Machine Gun and can fire 6 shots per second and when you get tagged by another player, your pack only shuts down for 2 seconds.
The twist to this game however is that Anti-Spam mode is enabled. This means that you can only shoot the same player twice in a row, before they become invulnerable to your fire. The only way you can then shoot that person again is after they get tagged by another player in the game.
You score points as in our standard games, however you will lose points when you get shot.
Respawn Solo / Team
At the start of this game, you need to find a “spawn point” in the arena (one of the 20 microblasters) which will then activate your pack.
As per our standard games, you get 3 shots per second, unlimited lives and an 8 second downtime when you get tagged, however the twist is that after you get tagged by another player, you need to go to a spawn point before your pack will re-energise.
You get 100 points regardless of which sensor you tag on the opposing players and you also lose 25 points every time you get tagged!
Bases are enabled and you can shoot each base twice (Solo Game) or the opposing teams bases (Team Game) per game, receiving 1000 points each time you destroy a base.
Sniper Solo / Team
The first one to fire wins… usually!
This is the ultimate game of skill. You need to stealthily stalk your opponents and make your first shot count, otherwise you will be wide open to retaliation from your prey! Once fired, your weapon takes 4 seconds to re-arm, so if you miss… well, I’ll leave that up to your imagination.
Highlander Solo / Team
This is an elimination game where you start with 10 lives (Solo Game) or 5 lives (Team Game) and the idea is to eliminate all the other players/teams from the game.
When you get tagged, your pack shuts down for 10 seconds and you lose a life. When you have lost all your lives your pack shuts down and you are out of the game.
Whilst the aim of this game is to be the last person alive, you will also score 1 point every time you tag another player. This will allow everyone to see who tagged the most players in the game.
Predator
In this game, 1 or 2 players are the “Predators” – they have the special alien weapons that fire faster than the humans and when tagged, they are offline for a shorter period of time.
Everyone else is a “Human” and the idea is for the “Humans” to try and kill the “Predators” before they wipe them out, but whilst they have the advantage in numbers, they have to be careful not to kill their own team, as Friendly Fire is enabled (for Humans only!)
“Predators” normally have 4/5 times the number of lives of the “Human” team and when you run out of lives, you are out of the game. Base Flags
The ULTIMATE team game.
In this game you start with unlimited shots and 1 life, in your own base. The object is to get from your base, to the opponents base and shoot it (once) to score. If you get shot, return to you base and the Microblaster in the base will give you another life, then you try again. Sounds simple? True, but that is what makes this game fun. No matter how “pro” a lasertag player you think you are, this is the game that sorts out the men from the boys.
Teamwork is the name of this game and if you don’t work together, it doesn’t matter how good you or the other players are, you will get decimated by the opposition.
This game is normally played in 2 rounds on the 2nd floor of the arena, playing as both the Red and Green teams to find the final score for the match.
Rabbit
Remember the song… “run Rabbit, run Rabbit, run, run run…” ? Well this is what you need to do (ok, walk briskly, as NO RUNNING is rule #1)
One player starts as the Rabbit and enters the arena before the other players. Everyone else has to go in and tag him. Whoever tags the Rabbit becomes the Rabbit and gets pursued by the hounds.
You get points for the amount of time you are the Rabbit and for tagging both the Rabbit and other hounds.
The Rabbit needs to keep moving through as the arena knows where you are and if you hide in a corner, the arena will pass the Rabbit randomly on to another player.
Escape
This is another 2-round game, where teams play as “Prisoners” and “Guards” to decide the winning team overall.
At the start of the game, the “Prisoners” (Red Team) start upstairs in the green base. They have 10 lives and start with a pistol (2 shots per second). When tagged, their pack shuts down for 5 seconds.
The “Guards” (Blue Team) start upstairs in the red base. They have 5 lives and start with a machine gun (4 shots per second), but when they get tagged, their packs shut down for 15 seconds.
The idea is for the “Prisoners” to escape the arena (get from the green base, back into the pack room) and still be alive.
Once players on either team loses all their lives, their pack shuts down and they are out of the game.
The one MAIN rule in this game is that players are NOT allowed to advance towards their objective whilst their pack is deactivated. eg: The “Prisoners” can’t make a break for the pack room and the “Guards” can’t try to outflank the “Prisoners” during the time their pack is deactivated, however you are allowed to retreat into cover.
At the end of each round, the marshall keeps score of how many “Prisoners” managed to get back to the pack room alive and the team with the highest number of escapees wins! Nuke ‘Em
Everyone starts with 20 credits, 150 lives, unlimited ammo and can fire 3 shots a second.
When you tag another player you gain credits as well as scoring points.
When you have enough credits, you have to try and find the components for the Nuke from the Microblasters.
All 20 Microblasters in the arena are enabled, however in 4 of them are… 1) The Nuke Cryptex, 2) The Nuke Firing Pin, 3) The Nuke Warhead and 4) A Nuke Shield – the rest hold Medic Packs.
When you have enough credits, tag a Microblaster and see what it gives you (hopefully a piece of the Nuke!) – the downside is that you need to get the components of the Nuke in order (1st Cryptex, 2nd Firing Pin and 3rd Warhead and this will cost you 45 credits in total -10, 10 and 25) – if you find a component in the wrong order, remember where it is so you can pick it up once you have the other parts.
Medic Packs cost 5 credits and a Nuke Shield costs 25 credits, so make sure you tag lots of players before going hunting for the component parts.
Once you have all 3 parts to the Nuke, you select the warhead from your weapons menu and fire it. The arena will announce the launch of the Nuke and other players have 5 seconds to deploy their Nuke Sheilds (if they have one)
The bad news is, if you don’t have a Nuke Shield, you’ll lose 120 lives (which probably means you are out of the game) and the player who launched the Nuke, goes and mops up the remaining lives of anyone who is lucky (?) enough to still be alive, but they better be quick, as other players may have a Nuke of their own!
Last player standing wins.
